Radiesse-201x300.jpgRadiesse® is a synthetic semi-permanent filler used to correct fine lines/wrinkles on the face and volume loss on the back of the hands. This product was developed by Merz Aesthetics and was FDA-approved for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles of the face in December 2006. In June 2015, the FDA approved Radiesse® for the treatment of hand aging and volume loss in June 2015.

Radiesse® is made of a calcium product called calcium hydroxylapatite suspended in a gel matrix composed of carboxymethylcellulose. This filler functions to form a structural support lattice network to facilitate production of new collagen and elastic fibers. Therefore, this product directly stimulates the body to produce it’s own natural collagen and elastin fibers, contributing to a more youthful and volumized appearance of the skin over time.
